Kyiv subwaystation “Slavutych”. It is the most beautiful and meaningful subway station in Ukraine.
Previously it’s planned to be named as “Dnipro”, but as the station with such name had existed already, it got an alternative Dnipro-river name from Ukrainian folklore.
The design of "Slavutych" station is determined by the main idea - allusion at the night Dnipro river: there are a lot of blue and dark colors, a large amount of metal is used to play lights and reflections.
The ceiling of the station is painted black, and blue metal profiles symbolize the water surface of the river with water lilies and reeds made from metal light plates and pipes that sway by trains movement.
The visitor can find the metal composition with an image of the Dnipro riverbed at the end of the station.
